Chinese/English Bilingual Lifesharing Coworker

Special Opportunity for Chinese/English Bilingual Candidate

This is a special coworker opportunity for a bilingual candidate who speaks both Chinese and English. We are looking for a bilingual coworker to join one of our lifesharing households, Jovis House, where two members of the household are Chinese language speakers. The ideal candidate will be able to communicate in Mandarin with one of our community members who speaks mostly in Chinese, and work closely with the householder (who is also bilingual) in supporting the household overall.

Plowshare’s Values

Plowshare Farm strives to respond to the social, human, spiritual and ecological needs of our times. At Plowshare, people with a wide range of capabilities – including people with special needs – live and work side by side to build a caring, inclusive and sustainable community.

Lifesharing

Do you wish for an integrated lifestyle that values the human being, the earth, the home, practical arts, Waldorf education and the insights gained through Anthroposophy? Have you considered lifesharing?

Do you have some of the following qualities, experiences and skills:

  • A passion for the Nurturing Arts, Practical Arts and Social Arts?

  • Experience living in community? Living with or supporting people with special needs or elders?

  • Cooking? Homemaking? A homesteading impulse?

  • Practical skills working with your hands?

  • An interest in spiritual striving?

  • A commitment to caring for the Earth?

As a lifesharing community grounded in Anthroposophy, we are innovators creating a model of social and ecological renewal. Joining our community as a lifesharing coworker is much more than a “job” - it is a choice to live in a different relationship with other people and the land. There is room here to make a meaningful contribution to building a sustainable community.

Plowshare Farm offers a generous support package, including: housing in one of our lifesharing households, meals shared in the household, a “cash benefit” income (paid twice a month), health coverage, a retirement plan (after one year of service), and a contribution toward Waldorf education for coworker children. Additionally, coworkers have 6 weeks annual vacation (3 in August, 2 in December, 1 in the spring) and two unscheduled days per week.

Plowshare Farm is an affiliate of the worldwide Camphill movement, a member of the Anthroposophic Council for Inclusive Social Development, and a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
